Team Building Workshops for Reception Age to Year 6
HOW DO WE GET THE BEST RESULTS?
We must use the school hall to achieve the best results. We fit in with the school timetable and the normal lunchtime hall routine is maintained.
HOW CAN IT BE SUITABLE FOR SO MANY AGE RANGES?
The children work at their own attainment level with high quality materials encouraging them to be as creative as they can. Older children are set greater challenges.
IS IT POSSIBLE FOR RECEPTION CHILDREN TO ACHIEVE THE RESULTS?
Yes, with some adult help around. Their fingers lack sufficient strength.
WHAT DO TEACHERS USUALLY DO?
They normally observe, take photographs, work with specific children, build a model, or allow an assistant to take their place.
IS THE INSTRUCTOR ALLOWED TO WORK WITH CHILDREN?
Yes, an up to date D.B.S. document is carried by the instructor.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SET UP?
About half an hour
DO YOU NEED ANY SCHOOL EQUIPMENT?
We use mats to work on and tables for the finished village.
DO YOU NEED A LARGE SPACE?
The more space the better, with larger groups a hall is preferable.
IS ANY OF THE LEGO LEFT BEHIND AT OUR SCHOOL?
Unfortunately due to the expense of LEGO and for the sake of our future bookings we can not leave any buildings behind after the workshop has finished. It is a good idea to take photographs to help with any work being carried out by the class at a later date relating to the workshop they have done.
WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF PUPILS, CAN THE WORKSHOP STRETCH OVER 2 DAYS?
Yes, arrangements can be made over the phone to suit your requirements
WE ONLY HAVE A SMALL NUMBER OF CHILDREN
We can operate the workshop with 25 children but there is a minimum charge of £360.
DO WE HAVE TO ALTER THE SCHOOL TIMETABLE?
No, we are entirely flexible and will fit in around your usual breaks and finishing times.
WE USE THE SCHOOL HALL FOR LUNCHES, IS THAT A PROBLEM?
No, the equipment is tidied to one corner out of the way ready to be set up again for the second group after lunch.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO TIDY AWAY?
At the end of the morning 5 minutes is allocated for the children to assemble and be photographed by staff around the finished model and then a further 15 minutes to tidy away.
DOES THE MODEL HAVE TO BE TAKEN APART?
Yes. We warn the children that this will happen but that the photos of their work will be saved by the school.
CAN TWO DIFFERENT WORKSHPS TAKE PLACE OVER THE SAME DAY?
Yes, it is possible to do the technology town planning workshop in the morning followed by the science workshop in the afternoon or vice versa.
